We are proud to announce the launch of Reserve Estimation for Unconventional Resources EMEA.

Reserve Estimation for Unconventional Resources EMEA will be held on the 28th February - 1st March 2012, in London.

Due to complex geology, the lack of applicability of conventional methods, and resource classification systems which are designed for conventional resources, estimating and reporting on reserves in unconventional reservoirs is exceptionally challenging.

Drawing on the huge success of the North American event in August, Reserve Estimation for Unconventional Resources EMEA will be highly technical and in-depth, providing an open platform for debate and discussion as shale plays in Europe begin to be developed. Leading reserves experts will be examining the assessment process through the full development of the play, from basin analysis at the early stages through to reserves classification and reporting.

Why attend:

  • Employ the most effective methods for resource assessment when working with a lack of production data in the early stages of play development
  • Examine the strengths and limitations of the traditional Arp’s decline curve and review alternative models that may be more appropriate for unconventional resources such as the Stretched Exponential decline model and the Duong model
  • Fully understand the geological structure of your reservoir and determine the extent of your resource using advanced seismic techniques
  • Review the UNFC system and the modernization of the SEC guidelines, and best practice for classifying your unconventional resources within these frameworks
  • Integrate volumetric and performance based assessment techniques to fully assess your resource from exploration to production stage
  • Review the strengths of reservoir modeling and simulation and successfully model the performance of unconventional reservoirs
  • Consider best practice for the application of PRMS, and the impact of the recently released SPEE Monograph 3
  • Maintain internal control over your reserve estimates, and inspire the confidence of investors by implementing appropriate reserve estimation approval processes
