Pre-Conference Workshop

Tuesday, 12th March, 2013

9am-4pm: Pre-event Workshop A: Next Generation Estimation and Production in Unconventional Reservoirs

This workshop will provide you with the skills and understanding required to estimate reserves and forecast production in unconventional gas reservoirs. You will gain in-depth technical insights into the strengths and weaknesses of both familiar and emerging approaches to estimating reserves and forecasting production in unconventional gas reservoirs.

By attending this workshop you will learn:

  • Volumetric methods for estimating reserves in unconventional reservoirs • Analog methods for forecasting production and estimating reserves in unconventional reservoirs
  • Empirical production decline models for forecasting production and estimating reserves in unconventional reservoirs
  • Analytical reservoir models for forecasting production and estimating reserves in unconventional reservoirs

Workshop leader

Fivos Spathopoulos, Consultant Shale-Gas Geologist, 3Legs Resources

Fivos Spathopoulos holds a Ph.D. in Geology from the University of London. From 1990 to 2006, he worked as an exploration geologist and basin analyst in Hess and other oil companies, where he was involved in global exploration, as well as in mapping the world’s petroleum source rocks.

Fivos will be joined by a panel of geology and petrophysical experts to help you with the process of accurate estimation and precise production forecasting.
